Eugene Public Library levy campaign kicks off for May's primary election

EUGENE, Ore. – The Eugene Public Library Foundation is kicking off its renewal campaign to continue the Eugene Public Library levy for another five years. Inviting the public to their campaign launch at the downtown Eugene Public Library on Thursday.

The levy will be on the May primary election ballot, with election day on May 19, and the library political action committee is spearheading the campaign to get the levy renewed.

If approved - the proposed levy renewal would cost the average eugene homeowner $54 dollars a year... which comes out to $4.50 a month. The current levy costs Eugene homeowners about $37 a year, making this the first time in 20 years that the levy is increasing.

The levy would bring in $4.3 million a year for the library, making up 23% of the total budget.
