Alba-Golden ISD calls for $20.6 million bond election

ALBA, Texas — Alba-Golden ISD's Board of Trustees has voted to call a bond election for May 2.

The total cost of the two projects is $20.6 million, the district said. The funds would contribute to a new Career and Technology Education facility as well as a new district gymnasium.

The action follows a recommendation from the Panther Legacy Vision Team, a planning group consisting of 36 people that met over a four-month period in the fall. The team was composed of students and family within the district, as well as alumni, community members and district staff volunteering time to study district facilities, review data and evaluate facility needs.

Prior to calling the 2026 bond, and in an effort to assess the needs of AGISD, a study was conducted by the Texas Association of School Boards in 2024. As a response to the study, in August 2025 the board of trustees committed $2 million of district funding for for upgrades, improvements, and renovations to existing facilities, the district said.
