Topgolf exit prompts Everett Mall owner to move in new direction

A large chunk of the Everett Mall site previously earmarked for a Topgolf could now be turned into housing.

Scottsdale, Arizona-based Alliance Residential Co. has come forward with a proposal to build an apartment complex with nearly 300 units at Everett Mall, according to Everett’s Economic Development Director Dan Eernissee.

“I believe that we may have dodged a bullet with Topgolf,” Eernissee told the Business Journal.

Everett Mall owner Brixton Capital has been leading a significant redevelopment of the 51-year-old shopping mall into an open-air retail and entertainment center, dubbed The Hub @ Everett.

They've already done this at Alderwood Mall where an apartment complex sits where Sears used to be. Don't know if I'd want to live in an apartment complex adjacent to a mall.
