Question about Gimp software

I have an old MacBook Pro with the OS 10.15.7 operating system. Is there a version of Gimp that will work with it Or is there some other free software that works like PhotoShop that'll work on it?

https://www.gimp.org/downloads/

Has a link to older versions. I can't say which runs on your os, but I am sure there's a forum to ask that.

Newest version is forcing me to deal with layers. I never paid any attention to them before. Must be user error.

Good luck

I can't advise on other editors. Most have gone to a subscription model. 👎
