Why the U.S. Gamble in Iran Is Much Bigger Than It Seems - William Spaniel

Every war is a gamble, but Trump's air war against Iran is a much riskier bet than it seems on the surface. The United States is burning through its missile reserves at a rapid rate, drawing from an already paltry reserve. This will come at a long term cost of deterring China along the Taiwan Strait. The upshot is that a successful operation will further limit China's ability to import oil in the event of World War III, thereby deterring any attempt to invade China. The United States also has some time to replenish its reserves before Beijing could make a move. But if the Iranian government survives, the United States will find itself in a precarious position moving forward.
