Proposal Power: Ukraine and Iran's Hidden Leverage - William Spaniel



Everyone understands that the Strait of Hormuz is a significant source of bargaining leverage for Iran. But why it is so powerful is not so obvious. Today, we examine something known as proposal power, how it fits into crisis bargaining theory generally in the context of the Ukraine War, why it might have contributed to Iran War in the first place, and how Taiwan's democratic institutions might save us from a Strait crisis of another variety.
