Putin FINALLY Lost His Naval Shield Just Now - Jason Jay Smart
Ukraine has turned Russias Black Sea Fleet from Crimeas shield into Crimeas weakness. Moscow built that fleet to protect the peninsula, threaten Ukraines coast, and keep occupation forces supplied. Instead, the Moskva is underwater after two Ukrainian Neptune missiles, landing ships have been hit in Berdyansk and Crimea, and warships pulled back from Ukraines coast once they realized they were being hunted.
September 2023 brought a strike on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, while Novorossiysk, shipyards, ports, patrol ships, and oil storage sites came under pressure. Turkeys closure of the straits to belligerent warships since 2022 leaves the fleet isolated inside the Black Sea. Replacement ships cannot simply sail in from other Russian fleets while Ukraine keeps targeting the routes, bridges, ferries, fuel trucks, and storage sites Crimea needs.
Naval prestige does not move fuel, repair air defenses, or refill Crimeas reservoirs. One 50 car fuel train carries roughly 35,700 barrels, but replacing one disrupted train can require up to 170 tanker truck trips. Sevastopol still has fuel limits, Russian regions are reporting shortages, and the fresh water problem worsened after the Kakhovka dam destruction. Nearly 30 major Russian warships have been destroyed or crippled, turning Putins fortress into a trap.
