the early light awakens blurry and uncertain as the chill reaches
silence holds onto the moment still when and where is this place
on being lost in a snow flurry ignoring that which all time teaches
lying on a fallow field dormant drying and withered with no trace
the seed has been spread and spent having abandoned the earth
to either rejection or the acceptance to burrow deep and nurture
without effort nor intelligence evident as swelling signals of birth
shoulder responsibility in reluctance the life seeking the searcher
sitting immobile amongst choices burdened by the deadly weight
the spring shyly blooms in the garden a love beckons as lust calls
confounded by screaming voices finding the hollow soul to inflate
even as warm hearts begin to harden the duty dwindles and falls
sullen and stubborn in the silence hate watches as the fruit ripens
dull and suborned by a violence fate lurches as pursuit enlightens
