Seahawks to hire 49ers' Brian Fleury as new OC
The Seattle Seahawks are expected to hire San Francisco 49ers tight ends coach/run game coordinator Brian Fleury as their next offensive coordinator, according to reports from multiple NFL insiders on Sunday.
ESPN and NFL Network first reported the news.
Fleury would replace Klint Kubiak, who left the Seahawks following their Super Bowl victory to become the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
In hiring Fleury, the Seahawks are bringing in a coach with plenty of familiarity with the offensive system they ran under Kubiak. Fleury has spent the past seven seasons on San Franciscos staff under head coach Kyle Shanahan, who runs a similar version of the offense Kubiak ran in Seattle. Fleurys time with the 49ers included coaching alongside Kubiak in 2023 while Fleury was tight ends coach and Kubiak the offensive coordinator. He also spent five seasons with the 49ers coaching with Klay Kubiak, Klints younger brother, including this past season while Klay Kubiak was the offensive coordinator.
