🌓⛅ The Oak King & The Holly King 🌓🌤️
In the bright half of the year, the Oak King reigns.
He is the warmth of the returning sun, the greening forests, the wildflowers opening, and the long days that invite growth.
His season is one of becoming. Of planting seeds. Of expansion. Of life rising from the earth.
Yet even at the height of his power, the wheel continues to turn.
At Litha, the Summer Solstice, when the sun stands highest in the sky, another presence begins to stir.
The Holly King
He is the keeper of twilight and harvest. He walks beneath berry-laden branches and autumn moons, carrying the wisdom that comes with change. He reminds us that every bloom eventually becomes fruit, and every season carries the promise of the next.
The Oak King and the Holly King are not enemies. They are partners in an endless dance.
One tends the season of growth.
One tends the season of gathering.
One teaches us how to reach toward the light.
One teaches us how to carry that light within.
Together they keep the wheel turning.
Perhaps that is the lesson of Litha:
Even at the brightest moment of the year, the next chapter has already begun.
Tonight (June 21, 2026), the moon is in a First Quarter phase.
June 29, 2026 (Full Strawberry Moon) will be a full moon.
