In Christianity, Spy Wednesday, also called Holy Wednesday and Good Wednesday, commemorates disciple Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. It occurs on the Wednesday before Easter.
I found this tidbit online at saintcatherine51.org:
How do you celebrate Spy Wednesday?
I hide 30 pieces of silver (dimes, nickels, quarters) around the house and the kids go on a spy hunt to find them. It's finders-keepers. We talk about how in Holy Week leading up to Easter, Judas betrays Jesus by ratting out his location so the chief priests (Sanhedrin) can arrest Jesus.
I wonder if there's a Spy Wednesday bunny.

none of this could have happened?
I find the whole thing confusing.
As for Judas, all I know is that he was a good guy in the movie The Fist of Jesus.
Think. Again.

(9,739 posts)for the sins of others. Had he voluntarily given himself up, that's one thing. But to be ratted out and arrested is not really an altruistic act, is it? And isn't that the whole point of the story?
