CBS is canceling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after hitting a ten-year ratings high this year. This just days after Colbert blasted the network’s $16-million dollar settlement with the Trump administration, which he characterized as a “big fat bribe.”
Now that parent company Paramount Global’s $8-billion dollar merger with Skydance has been greenlit by Trump's FCC, many are asking if the decision to cancel was purely a financial one.
