(114,559 posts)but Friedman is correct that nothing will change in Iran until we stop bombing them for a while. At that point, rank and file IRGC will realize that the time for glory through martyrdom has passed them by and they'll start noticing exactly what that isn't there any more, like ytheir homes, their cars, the kids' schools, grocery stores, and everything else they relied on prewar to keep themselves and their families going. Even the most hard coire religious nutcases are going to start asking some questions, even if their families were kept safe.
People will always rally around even the worst governments when someone else is shooting at them. The shooting has to stop for that to change at all as people expect those bad governments to do something besides issue threats.
