Let's talk about Trump claiming victory and Iran publicly mocking Trump.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump claiming victory and Iran publicly mocking Trump.

Republicans are claiming victory in Iran. Speaker of the House Johnson said the objectives have been met, objectives have never been defined, and that the whole thing will be “done in short order and that'll be right on schedule.” No schedule was ever defined.

Meanwhile, Trump himself is saying, "This war has been won." He added, “It's we have really regime change. You know, this is a change in the regime because the leaders are all very different than the ones that we started off with that created all those problems. So, this was I think we can say Jason this is regime change, right?”

Either Trump doesn't know what regime change is or he's betting his base doesn't. It's called regime change, not head of state change. The regime is still very much intact and in fact appears to be made of people more hardline than before. The Iran of 2024 probably could have been easily negotiated with. The Iran of today, not in the same way.

Iran has flatly rejected Trump's 15-point plan with a lieutenant colonel with central headquarters saying, "The strategic power you used to talk about has turned into a strategic failure. The one claiming to be a global superpower would have already gotten out of this mess if it could. Don't dress up your defeat as an agreement. Your era of empty promises has come to an end.” He continued by mocking Trump's claims of negotiations and added, "Have your internal conflicts reached the point where you are negotiating with yourselves?"

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of Defense is out there talking tough, saying, "We negotiate with bombs." While Trump is trying desperately to negotiate while claiming he's already won, and Iran is saying they don't negotiate, Iranian exiles are blaming the lack of a plan for the failure, with one telling the press, "If we had a world situation where Europe and the rest of the world was more orchestrated and together collectively with a plan that combined a number of things, both force and diplomacy and sanctions and discussions, all kinds of things, long-term plan, then that could have worked with this regime."

I mean, yeah. It turns out allies and planning are like bigly important. Just like everybody told Trump as he destroyed US power by undermining and attacking our allies and undercutting US soft power around the world. Despite Trump's claims of victory, the situation is very much unresolved and we're still on an escalation ladder as the US sends troops into the region and Iran says peace “will only occur on Iran's own terms and timeline.”

Iran has released five conditions for ending the war. They want an immediate end to hostilities, and it appears to include covert operations. They want concrete security guarantees to make sure the war doesn't pop back off. They want guaranteed payment of war damages and reparations. They want the conclusion of war against all aligned non-state actors throughout the region. and they want international recognition and guarantees regarding Iran's authority over the Strait of Hormuz.

I can tell you now this is a non-starter, but that's not a surprise. First offers normally are. However, this is such a non-starter, it's a signal that Iran isn't feeling as much pressure to negotiate as Trump wants people to believe.

Tomorrow morning on the Roads with Belle, there we'll go over a list of options of where things might go from here. Oh, and we will get to the claim of the US being insolvent soon. But relax, it's not any worse than it was.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
