10. That is what baffles me.

I don't think the way they think. I never cared or aspired to be anything more than "comfortable". Sort of like the Swedish concept of "logum". I don't understand how someone could sell their principles for money. I just don't get it.

"In Swedish, lagom means "not too much, not too little, but just the right amount" or "in moderation". It's a concept encompassing balance and appropriateness in everyday life, from work-life balance and consumption to socializing and even the ideal temperature of coffee. While an exact English translation is difficult, it conveys a sense of finding harmony, satisfaction, and sustainability in all things.

It's about finding the perfect midpoint, avoiding extremes of excess or scarcity.
Appropriateness: The "right amount" is often context-dependent, applied to individuals and groups alike.
Moderation: Lagom encourages a mindful approach to life, promoting contentment with "enough" rather than always seeking more.
Swedish Cultural Value: It reflects a deeply ingrained cultural ethos in Sweden, influencing everything."

I learned about this while watching No Reservations/Tony Bourdain's "Sweden" episode.
