Trump's assaults on vulnerable and marginalized Americans requires more than just a partisan movement based on policy [View all]
..if we are to effectively confront Trump's exploiting revival of historic fears and resentments against vulnerable and marginalized Americans, we'll need a movement that emphasizes solidarity and celebrates our diversity; in effect, we need a new Civil Rights movement.
It the government is going to persist in beating people down, we need to stand them up and directly defend them with our own values and demands for recognition and protections against discrimination and abuse.
In fact, I'm a little surprised that Democrats and others who value diversity, and their neighbors's disparate identities and origins, haven't organized an influencing campaign that celebrates the diversity within our own party; not as a matter of course, but in direct contradiction to what Trump is doing as he uses Biden's diversity initiative in government as a cudgel and tool to dismantle almost every instigation or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc. which he politically or personally opposes.
What are we waiting for?
