The price tag for extending the subsides for a year is 23 billion. So 40 billion would certainly make a decent dent.

Now, just cut back that 75 billion in supplemental ICE funding, and you've got a stop-gap ACA to hold us over until we send Trump packing and implement transformative change (including Universal Health Care, progressive tax on income, tax on wealth and inheritance, and truly revolutionary policies, such as Piketty's "Inheritance for all." )

A gal can dream.
