I have friends in Europe, and they shake their heads in sadness at the mess the United States is in. Many Americans don't understand that countries have agency, and that many of them are ready to (and have been) make(ing) their own arrangements because they can't base their long-term security and economic planning on how people vote in the 'Blue Wall' states.
