Before working polls, I was a poll watcher (we are allowed one from each major party). On one occasion, a mid 30's man who spent way too much time listening to AM radio and watching YouTube conspiracies was a poll watcher for the GOP. He had no idea how the system actually worked. Yet he had been convinced that it was all rigged.

After an hour or so of observing, he came over to me and said something like, "well this runs pretty smooth." DUH! I guess he was expecting to find hordes of brown people voting with fake IDs. Or teenagers voting for their dead grandparents.

I wanted to tell him that the biggest problem is the people in his party making it harder for working class citizens and veterans to vote. But I doubt that would have made any sense to him.
