I think the worst possible thing people can see is Trump trying to handle and actual crisis, whether it's of his own making or not. His poor decision making, ignorance and cruelty are plain to see. His incompetence and the clownish performance of his administration are on full display, while lives are being lost and the rest of the world watches in astonishment.

I would think the political fallout will be similar to the election after COVID, too, especially if the US goes into recession with very high gas prices, etc. And they know this. They're trying everything they can think of to calm markets and prevent runaway oil prices, but Trump knows quitting now is losing so he keeps marching deeper into the Big Muddy.
