(15,412 posts)There's the violent or hateful social deviant who enjoys inflicting pain on others they don't approve of - like Stephan Miller.
There's the freak who is an "outsider" or otherwise not socially conforming; who does their own thing within legal limits, not really caring what anyone thinks so long as no one gets upset or chaos develops - every loner or those who are called deviant but aren't hurting anyone, except maybe themselves ..."Tomcat" - a local shaman type with tattoos, implants, and surgeries to look like a tailess lizard-cat-man - including claws and sharpened teeth - but went about his own daily business as a really good, certified aircraft engine mechanic and junk parts recycler or "repurposer"...
(He was called a freak by those who didn't know him, but he was a really friendly, peaceful guy who cared about the environment)
And then there's the freak who does their own thing not caring about legal limits or who is affected or gets hurt by their actions.
(The after work late night barfly drunk driver, the Libertarian, the immature Nepo-baby...)
As you said later on this thread being a freak is on a spectrum.
From people like TomCat, goth kids, and drag queens to Stephan Miller, Youth Pastors, and other sharp dressed Predators.
If no one is hurt in a serious, unwanted way and all messes that can affect others or the environment are cleaned up afterwards, who should care about another's freak?
Let that flag fly high - and if it brings joy, wonder, or exposes hypocrisy - good on ya, freak friend.
