(19,189 posts)that is, at least one accuser was currently working for his office when the first incident occurred. It seems all of the accusers were in an unbalanced power situation, with Swalwell holding the power.
And look at the reactions of his staff. They should be loudly defending him, but where is that? Instead we see resignations and an anonymous (to the public, presumably as protection from retaliation) statement purportedly by current staff: that they continue to work for him to support the people of the district - but don't support him.
The sum of the reactions, and the lack of credible vocal assertions that he doesn't get into the situations described, speaks volumes.
Even if no sexual assault occurred - if other elements of the story are true - like taking young women out and getting them wasted ... that's all I need to know. A person in his position should not even get into the situations where these allegations are credible.
