I'm not sure that I would agree with your statement of "taking young women out and getting them wasted". Unless Swalwell slipped them the date rape drug, women of adult age should be able to keep themselves from getting wasted just like any other responsible adult should be expected to do. I don't see women as being helpless - even when out with a boss or person of power. I'm old and retired now, but I remember times in my twenties when I worked at a law firm and we would have happy hours. I was perfectly capable of deciding how much I felt comfortable drinking, and when it was time to leave. The responsibility to do that was mine.
But who is going to be the next accused? Because Republicans (and even other same party opponents) have learned that it works against Democrats. (It doesn't seem to work much against Republicans. Tony Gonzales hasn't resigned.). Where does it end? Seriously. Is it going to be Mark Kelley next? Maybe James Talarico, right? I mean, at what point does it just get absurd?
Dems are so anxious to show that they don't condone sexual assault that they forget the very basis of law in that someone is innocent until proven guilty.
It would not hurt Pelosi or Schumer or Porter to wait a couple of days before jumping on the bandwagon of throwing Swalwell under the bus. It makes them look way too reactive in my opinion. There is going to be plenty of time for that as the facts become more clear.
