5. Is the President not allowed to criticize the Pope?

Seems like a bad take. Didn't JFK have to give a whole speech about how he wouldn't be subservient to the Pope? Is that not the case? Catholic members of Congress must defend the "vicar of Christ" in all cases or they worship the President?

If the Pope thinks he can dictate people's reproductive choices, would a Democratic president be able to criticize that? Would Catholic Democrats in Congress be required to leap to the Pope's defense?
