1. Why are we doing this?

All the indications are that Democrats are going to win the House by thirty to forty seats, and the margins are going to be significant enough that claiming it was stolen would be absurd. Everybody dislikes gerrymandering, including the largest bloc of voters, independents, because it makes elections less democratic. Why are we making elections unnecessarily less democratic. We should be talking about outlawing gerrymandering instead of doing it.
