7. I don't want "names"

I don't care about famous artists. I don't care about entertainment. As many may have noticed, there's a lot of entertainment available now. We get entertained everywhere we go. I've now heard "Down on the Corner" so many times I actually cringe when I hear it.

July 4th should be one day, some good food, some fireworks, some ambient music from competent musicians. It should be family, not a bunch of people staring up at some corporate personality waving their arms.

I also don't want to see Trump turn the thing into some kind of Republican political rally. It looks like the musicians have been scared away by all the partisanship. Now we're stuck with a political rally. Great. (Sarcasm)

As I've noted before, Dems could try to do a nonpartisan alternative. No names. No posturing. Patriotic and simple.

Trump's not going to do that, I think. Although, who knows? He may go for the simple, patriotic stuff too. Not some ego fest for himself. But who knows?
