And I think we're bound for continued trouble as long as the 'party', and 'beltway' 'establishment' Democrats are considered the problem by so many. If anyone who as actually worked with - anything resembling the system or reins of power, is now considered tarnished 'insider' ... That perforce leaves nothing left but those having zero experience, and/or meaningful record. And it certainly would seem to preclude against anything resembling a vetting process. (by whom after all?)

As for the current situation - (and possible role for the party) - no, I don't think there is much to be done. The only really effective way to weed out candidates like Platner (if in fact that is what we really want to do) is for voters to stop pulling the lever for candidates like Platner. Stop being so credulous. Stop being so gullible. Stop voting for the virile male that looks good in a pull over. Full stop.
