1. It looks like they (comedians) were trying to highlight the atrocity not make fun of it.

Seems like typical black humor. It also appears like the folks in charge of Tribeca doesn't want people to think about the sexual abuse and the following statement: “Sexual violence and human suffering should never be mocked or minimized. The comments do not reflect the Tribeca Festival’s values, and we regret the hurt and offense they have caused.” is a thin fig leaf to cover censorship. How fucking convenient.
