Which could enable arbitrary changes to their ‘approved voter lists’ much closer to the elections.

Post office will be a gauntlet for voters to run through.
Is your name on the federal ‘approved voter list’? No? Sorry, they won’t mail your ballot.
Do you think your postmark before the election is good enough? Sorry, they don’t postmark locally anymore; only when it gets to the hubs.
Did you allocate plenty of time for the snail mail, and it arrived the day after the election? Too bad, they are likely to forbid states from counting votes in the ‘grace period’.
Did you check to see if you are on the voter rolls? Sorry, your state has to use the voter purge lists from the federal government, and we already know those will be (intentionally) “inaccurate”.

That personally identifiable bar code on the OUTSIDE of your envelope? Hmm, maybe we can run a little subroutine through palantir databases to find out if you are the ‘right kind of voter’. If not, those sorting machines might put you on the extra long trip to the extra slow sorting hub.

They don’t have belt-and-suspenders in the GOP voter suppression strategy. They have belt, suspenders, velcro, safety pin, superglue, buttons and rivets to ensure that elections can be rigged.
All while claiming that liberals are rigging them.
Most unamerican crop of republicans ever.
