Mere "handfuls" of people can be a problem.
A "handful" of Supreme Court justices can be an existential threat to democracy.
I'm more of the mind to excommunicate termites (pun intended) when I find them, instead of waiting for my house to be eaten. But that's just me.
Cry-babies can now set up their own church in a backyard shed for all I care.
