This week is DU's pop-up tip jar fund drive! And for the non-PayPal users, I have news...

For one week in May we run a low-key fund drive, and that week is this week! From this Monday through Friday, we're asking you to kick in to Grovelbot's tip jar in order to help keep DU financially healthy.

While the fund drive is running, registered members who are not Star Members will get to use the site without ads while signed in, so they can see how much better DU is as a Star Member. Meanwhile, making a payment this week will allow you to give kudos to a DU member of your choice, and we will recognize all those DUers at the end of the fund drive.

For those of you who prefer not to use PayPal, we have news...

Over the past few months we've been working on integrating new payment methods into our Star Membership system, so if you want to contribute to the fund drive this week, you'll be able to avoid PayPal completely if that is your preference.

Right now, it only works for one-time payments, so the tip jar fund drive seemed to be the perfect time to test it out. (Soon, we hope to make additional payment options available for monthly subscribers). All you need to do is visit:

When on that page:

1) Enter the amount you want to pay and hit either "Pay with PayPal" or "Other payment methods"

2) If you select "Pay with PayPal" you'll be taken to PayPal to complete the process. If you select "Other payment methods" you'll be taken to a Stripe page where you'll be given a list of payment options (note that you will have to enter the amount again if you choose this option).

3) All of these payment methods will now update your Star Membership automatically. However, if you experience any issues with this, please don't hesitate to contact me either via DU Mail or email at [e-mail].

Please note that if you are already a monthly or yearly subscriber, leaving a one-time tip will not affect your ongoing subscription in any way.
