I mean, what possible kind of ID would an "illegal" need to book such a flight?

Crafty Americans wanting free airfare for a vacation will just show up at an airport with fake ID showing them to be "undocumented" (what does that even look like??) and get a free ride wherever they want. I'd go to New Zealand.

But really, why not?
