11. "Fallout shelters"

If you grew up in the '50's or '60's, fallout shelters were everywhere. Heck, even my elementary school had one. (They were virtually useless against a direct nuclear blast.)

I think what she's talking about are those deep underground bunkers below D.C. Reading about that makes me think of the ending of Dr. Strangelove, where they're discussing what kind of women will be selected to stay in the bunkers and then breed the new race once the nuclear war was over.
