...from various companies, both personally and on-line with government credit card. They've never asked me what I'm using it for, although the terms of service state that it can't be used for illegal purposes.

And even if they did ask, do you think a criminal would tell the truth? I'm pretty sure Timothy McVeigh, if asked, wouldn't have told Hertz that he was going to use the truck to blow up a federal building.
