without a car, in most places in the country. A car is an absolutely necessity for nearly everyone, especially if you live in rural (or near rural) areas. While driving without insurance is a crime in most (if not all) states, I think we're going to start having more and more cars on the streets that are uninsured once again. When divvying up the meager weekly wages, something has to be tossed when competing against food, medicine, and rent/mortgage and utility costs. Priorities are going to become a down to the bone thing... and when that really kicks in, you're going to start seeing a lot more violence on the streets because people are frackin' stressed to the max at the high cost of just "living," especially as they see all the rights and privileges they grew up with stripped from them right and left.
