Others have "been there, done that" over the past several thousand years.

This system of government was a "modern experiment". But it was crafted and later evolved through the efforts of people who were born and raised in countries that had no such system, so the system was nothing more than a pipe dream in a way.

I have posted many times in the past that our government was based on "the honor system". Meaning that if a court says "no", one might bitch and complain, but you accepted the outcome and society enforced it. Now that "honor" has been breached and it will be a tough road to restore it.
