And IIRC, the Repukes did it when the Parliamentarian ruled against them. And then, McConnell then hired McDonough. She’s ruled against them on more than a couple occasions, with speculation that she’d be fired.

Firing the Parliamentarian just for…reasons…would become just one more tit-for-tat that I’m not sure even Thune would want to get into.

But, I’ve been wrong in the past. Could be wrong now.
