since 2020. Our "no-excuse absentee" voting law here in PA, first passed in 2019 and effective in 2020, included a signature/date requirement on the ballot return envelope. The need for requiring a date has been an issue in both the state and federal courts ever since, as thousands of ballots have been thrown out if that was missing and the county had no correction or "cure" mechanism to fix that.
