4. A friend sent me an autographed copy of his book

It was about planning the March on Washington which no one was sure could be pulled off. In one of the run-up nights King held a meeting in the hotel to set the march agenda over which there were many opinions. King tasked Jones to take notes. When King thought enough idea time had been invested he told Jones to go upstairs to his room and create an outline. According to Jones, King added "And try to do it without too many martinis."

His daughter was a neighbor in a building which I lived. I guess I did something nice for her because she left me a nice thank you card once. If I knew who she was at the time, I would have kept it. But I still have her dad's signature.
