What condition does Trump have?
Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that develops when veins become damaged and fail to work effectively. Under normal circumstances, valves within the veins transport blood from throughout the body to the heart, but chronic venous insufficiency restricts this blood flow, leading to blood pooling in the legs.

Johns Hopkins Medicine describes the condition as "not a serious health threat," though it can be "painful and disabling." Chronic venous insufficiency affects 1 in 20 adults, and typically presents in those over the age of 50.

Without proper treatment, the condition can lead to pain, swelling, cramps, varicose veins, and leg ulcers.

The condition also can lead to DVT -- Deep Vein Thrombosis -- clots forming in deep veins, typically the veins in the legs. This is a very dangerous condtion because a clot can become dislodged and travel through the circulatory system and become lodged in the arteies or veins in the brain or in the heart.

If a DVT breaks loose and lodges in the brain, it causes a stroke. Depending on the size of the clot and location in the brain, death can result in a matter of minutes.

If a DVT breaks lose and lodges in the heart, it can cause a serious, even fatal, heart attack.
