Union workers at American Axles Three Rivers plant reached a tentative agreement Wednesday that delivers substantial pay increases after nearly two weeks on the picket line in Southwest Michigan.
The agreement between UAW Local 2093 and the parts manufacturer affects 987 workers who walked off the job May 31, in the facilitys first strike since the 2008 financial crisis. It will be voted on by union members in the coming days.

UAW President Shawn Fain announced the deal during a live-streamed event, saying the company more than doubled its initial offer during the 10-day work stoppage.
Before the agreement, wages at the plant topped out at $22 an hour. The new contract guarantees all workers at the facility will earn at least $30 an hour by 2030, with legacy workers who have been with the company since before May 31, 2008, reaching $30 immediately upon ratification.
