…mud that was sort of like a trampoline. Well it was until one of my buddies went up to his waist in the mud, like immediately. We’re all in the 7th grade, so the guy was about 12 or 14, and not that tall. We were freaked but figured struggling was a bad idea. Luckily we were able to get him out. But he almost disappeared into the gelitainous goop.
Jeez, that was in 1965. John’s Pond. Never went back there, I prefer lakes. The word, pond, still leaves me feeling uneasy
