Unconscious and needed CPR and then absolute quiet, no hospital, no announcement. If McConnell is dead there can be no confirmations, no legislation can be passed. Kentucky doesn't allow an appointment, they require a special election. Beshear may try to appoint a successor regardless, believing that the Kentucky law is unconstitutional, if the court were to support that thought it would upend the Senate.
