5. Friday was the hottest day I can remember in this rural KS town wherein I live.

Then I got woke up very early in the morning today to a huge thunderstorm. At first, I thought it was one of those super M80/M100 fireworks, or whatever they call them. They're so loud they shake the house! But no... THIS was thunder! This was Mother Nature sending us a reminder than nothing can out do She, Herself! It rained buckets for hours, with the accompanying bolts of lightning and huge booms of thunder. My cats didn't care WHAT made it... they just hated the noise, and so did the dogs. Gave him a couple more of the calming herbals and held the cats tighter. It finally stopped raining about 4pm today, and the temp was actually pleasant, 70 degrees... which just means the fireworks will get cranked up full throttle later on tonight. (SMDH) You can't win for losing, my poor babies. And I weep for all the poor babies out on their own through all of this. May Bast watch over them all and keep them safe.
