Today, Russia operates on a market-based economy characterized by extensive state ownership and privatization, often referred to as "crony capitalism" or an oligarchy.

Putin has actually blamed communism for the collapse of the former Soviet Union empire.

Capitalism is just fine with dictatorships, slavery, religious control and even some amount of feudalism. Anything that helps a few at the expense of the rest of us.
