We had a patient in my ICU many years ago, who blew an AAA while vented. He got immediate CPR, every presser and fluid bolus we could push in. None of it did a bit of good. If all your blood is leaking into your abdominal cavity, it doesn’t matter if the chest compressions are perfect.
