1. I live in the country in the north Georgia mountains. Beautiful but as filled with death as it is with life.

Yesterday

We are commuting distance from Atlanta so lots of folks up here don't have "sticks education". I always feel so bad when I see a lost pet sign taped to a pole or traffic sign because I know it is pretty likely that a coyote or raptor (hawk or owl) got Snowball, and kitty is not coming home.

And once you've seen what a hawk or racoon can do to a chicken, you don't get that warm fuzzy feeling when you see them anymore.
