I saw Alfie on TV, not in the movie theater, so it was already on reruns. But it was quite a long time ago, and even then you could see that Michael Caine would become a big star.

In the Batman series, Caine was an important co-star since many of Christian Bale's revelatory scenes are between Bruce Wayne and Alfred.
