The most appealing facet about The Sherlocks is their likeness to several British bands. While it’s hard to distinguish direct influences, it’s clear that bands like The Jam have been their bread and butter growing up. They have the guitar brash of The Clash and the observatory night out conclusions of first-record Arctic Monkeys provincial pop: “You spend half your wage before you get paid”. Brandon Crook’s prominent fast paced work and crashing symbols on the drums obtain a Gary Powell-like dominance. This is what makes the band immediately likeable for first time listeners – they portray the qualities of everyone’s favourite bands. While style and sound may be borrowed from various sources, the 4-piece stand atypical. Each song sounds quintessentially The Sherlocks.

That blending of influences that still creates their own unique sound is what worked for Oasis earlier, so even though I hadn't heard of the Sherlocks till I ran across their own podcast talking about Liam Gallagher, it didn't seem at all surprising that he'd invite them to tour with him.

And today drummer Brandon Crook in an exclusive Skype video chat from Brooklyn - watch it in full here - told us of their delight at getting the gigs while winning over new fans on their debut USA tour.
He said: "What a year this has been. Getting a top 10 debut album, playing Europe and America...and now we get news that we are supporting Liam Gallagher on his debut solo tour dates in Europe.
"It's mad. We are all big Oasis fans and to think we've now got this far is amazing. We met Liam at Leeds Festival after our gig when we had just celebrated our chart position with fans after coming off stage.
"That day is going to take some beating. We ended up having drinks with him afterwards and we really got on well. We can't wait to be gigging with him next year."

Sherlocks’ drummer Brandon Crook, 25, believes Liam has mellowed but is proud of their links with him.
He told the Chronicle: “Liam’s a good bloke and he came out of his way to speak to us.
“We have played with some pretty big bands but I would say that Liam has been the best with us.
“He is absolutely sound and he has definitely calmed down a lot. He is a national treasure so the security around him is pretty high but he made a real effort to come and talk to us.
