I loved Pembleton; who didn't? Andre Braugher was such a phenomenal actor. But my favorites were Munch and Meldrick. The only character I didn't really like was the medical examiner played by Michelle Forbes. The show had such good stories and such a talented cast. I thought the last couple years, when a lot of the main cast left, were not as good as the earlier ones. But all in all, a great series.
Barney Fife! What a hoot! He thought he was so cool and he really wasn't. I dont think anybody on earth could have played him as well as Don Knotts did.

If you are lucky to have a great local library, there are probably DVDs of the old series

I like so many of the shows already mentioned but for me the answer is St. Elsewhere
